Pimple Tales
Question 1: What does pimple or acne actually mean? What causes pimples on the face?
Our skin has small, oil-producing Sebaceous Glands. These become more active as we grow up. As we grow older, our facial skin grows too, and this can sometimes block the entrances of these glands, closing its pores. That’s when acne or pimples show up on our faces.
- Acne or pimples are common during the teenage years.
- The sebaceous glands on the face produce oil, and as we grow older, the secretion from these glands increases.
Me: Finally waving goodbye to one stubborn pimple.
Next day: 3 more pimples greeting me NAMASTE!
Question 2: How do you take care of the pimples on your face?
- Sometimes, pimples caused by hormones can go away on their own.
- Treat your face with care, like you would to your precious belongings.
- Wash your face regularly with clean water.
- Pay attention to what you eat, and try to avoid foods that might trigger pimples. Do not eat oily and junk food.
- Wear a mask or a scarf in places with a lot of pollution since teenage skin can be quite sensitive.
- Make sure to get enough sleep; your skin will thank you!
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of pure water.
- Be cautious about using cosmetics; it’s a good idea to consult with the skin doctor (dermatologist) before randomly trying anything new.
